Barca Nepal. Andrés Iniesta has decided that he will not remain at Barcelona after the end of the season. After the Copa del Rey final, he will officially relay this decision to the club and a new dimension will be added to his career.
This decision may not be in the best of interests for his career. Iniesta is still only 33, and has a lot of time at the top, left in him. But he is in a line of footballers who have sold out to the money power of the Chinese clubs.
But leaving that aside, rumours have emerged regarding the future club of the legend. According to reports, Andrés Iniesta will join Chinese Super League club Chongqing Dangdai Lifan at the end of the season.
He also has a good working relationship with Chongqing Dangdai Lifan president Jiang Lizhang, who is also a stakeholder in Granada CF. Iniesta has promoted Lizhang’s club in Spain and elsewhere, even posing with the Chongqing Lifan shirt on one occasion.
Lizhang’s sports marketing agency, Desports, already have a deal in place with the 33-year old, and his transfer to Chongqing Lifan will only strengthen their ties. Lizhang has already made supplementary moves.
He is in talks with Manchester City to sign Fernandinho, while he has already sealed the deal which has brought Brazilian forward Alan Kardec to Chongqing. Also, he is interested in signing Iniesta’s ex-teammate and current Hebei China Fortune defender Javier Mascherano.
