Rodri: Busquets has set an example for me to look up to

Barca Nepal Having been labelled as Sergio Busquets’ heir, Villarreal midfielder Rodri Hernandez has admitted that the Barcelona player serves as his personal reference point.

The 21-year-old has received his first call-up for Spain and explained that he sees this chance more as an award than as an assessment.”Busquets has set an example for me to look up to,” he told the press conference at La Roja’s training camp.”Although each one has his [own] qualities, we are similar players.”[My call-up] is not an exam for me, but a prize that comes to me very soon.

“I have worked hard to be here and I know where I’m from and where I’m going.”After his national team’s game away in Germany, Atletico Madrid’s Estadio Wanda Metropolitano will open its gates to host Spain’s game against Argentina and Rodri described his feelings on playing at his new home, having agreed to join Atleti in the summer.”The setting is unique and I’m looking forward to it,” he noted.

“Thanks to the team’s good season and partly thanks to [Atletico Madrid] I’m at the Spanish national team.”The Germany match kicks off at 20:45 CET on Friday.
